Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Taimanglo. He landed the much harder strikes and did more physical damage overall.

ROUND TWO: Taimanglo looked for the uppercut again at the outset of the round. The action was very tentative through the opening minute. Taimanglo got in a solid combination. He landed a hard step in knee to the body. He got through with a straight right and Fisher was on wobbly legs. He got in a couple of knees, but he let Fisher off the hook. He threw a spinning kick that got to the body. Fisher landed a solid right. Taimanglo came forward with a short burst again. Taimanglo continued as the aggressor, with Fisher mostly retreating. Fisher just wasn't doing much of anything. Fisher got in a short combination with 30 seconds left. They traded punches. Taimanglo tried to goad him into throwing with time running out and he got in one right hand to end the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Taimanglo. Fisher wasn't doing much offensively, and Taimanglo just kept following him and throwing occasional strikes.

WINNER: Taimanglo via unanimous decision

STAR RATING: (**-) Ok fight I suppose. Not horrible, but the last 7 minutes or so weren't great as Taimanglo just tossed out ineffectual strikes while Fisher just didn't do anything.

FIGHT TWO: JUSTIN WILCOX VS. AKOP STEPANYAN (FEATHERWEIGHT TOURNEY QUARTERFINAL

ROUND ONE: Wilcox came straight forward and landed a solid right to kick things off. He landed a leg kick and a nice strike behind it. Stepanyan again landed the kick just above the ankle. Wilcox missed a couple of strikes. Stepanyan landed a left. Wilcox tripped up Stepanyan with a leg kick, but couldn't get to him quick enough. Stepanyan got in another spinning back kick to the body. Wilcox tried to chase him down but couldn't connect. Stepanyan got in to the body as the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Stepanyan. Wilcox can't get to him to score much offense, while Stepanyan worked effectively.

ROUND TWO: Wilcox was quickly limping on the leg after taking another kick there. He had a huge hematoma on his shin. Stepanyan landed a spinning kick to the head and it cut Wilcox open. He scored a takedown in desperation after taking the kick. He tried to work some ground and pound as his head continued to bleed. Stepanyan tried to escape and Wilcox quickly took his back and locked on a rear naked choke! Stepanyan tried to fight out of it but it was tight and he went out cold! Huge comeback from Wilcox.

WINNER: Wilcox via submission (rear naked choke) at 2:20 of the second round

STAR RATING: (***) That's a hell of a gutsy comeback from Wilcox. Stepanyan was looking real sharp, picking apart Wilcox's leg, but Wilcox just pounced on a small opening to grab that choke. Stepanyan didn't want to let that slip away, so he went out cold instead. He took a ton of damage, though, and I don't know that he'll be ready for the semifinals.

-Rampage Jackson joined Sean Wheelock and Jimmy Smith cageside to talk up his fight with Tito Ortiz. Oh, and he's staying on commentary for the Vladimir Matyushenko-Houston Alexander fight.

FIGHT THREE: VLADIMIR MATYUSHENKO VS. HOUSTON ALEXANDER (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Both fighters started out tentatively, circling around the cage without engaging for most of the opening minute. Matyushenko landed a leg kick, and Alexander scored with a couple of strikes. Matyushenko landed a left. Alexander caught a kick to the body and landed a counter right. Alexander shot in and got Matyushenko down, But Matyushenko turned it around on him and got on top, planting Alexander on his back briefly. Alexander scrambled and popped to his feet. Alexander just gave him the mount, then gave up his back but scrambled right out and got to his feet. Nice escape. Alexander tried to rush in but his punches were off the mark. Matyushenko got in a straight right. Neither fighter seemed interested in making the first move. Matyushenko landed a hard right as Alexander got in. They backed off again and circled each other as the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Matyushenko. Not much happened, but he had the better of the offense which was actually scored.

ROUND TWO: Matyushenko scored a couple of early strikes. Alexander got in close and ate a bunch of punches before getting pushed away. Matyushenko landed a hard left hook in an exchange. Alexander shot in but that went nowhere quick. Alexander landed a counter right. More tentative action for the next minute as again neither wanted to make the first move. Alexander caught a kick and countered with a right. The crowd finally started booing. Surprised by how long that took. Matyushenko landed a leg kick. Matyushenko almost got a takedown but Alexander got out of it. Matyushenko landed a right. The round mercifully came to an end. Wait, we have five more minutes of this.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Matyushenko. He's not doing much, but it's more than Alexander at this point.

ROUND THREE: Alexander landed an early body punch. Matyushenko scored a body punch and they clinched. Alexander got in a short punch as he separated. Alexander landed a counter punch to the body after a kick. They each landed short lefts in close. Matyushenko landed a left hook. He scored a takedown as he ate a knee. Alexander got to his feet and tried his own takedown, but Matyushenko circled through and took his back. He landed some strikes as Alexander attempted to escape. Alexander popped to his feet and Matyushenko had him in a headlock. Matyushenko dragged him down further and just controlled him. Matyshenko added in some punches which didn't really do much, but continued to control Alexander on the ground. He continued landing to the head and body and kept Alexander in that position until the bell.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Matyushenko. He controlled Alexander for most of the round on the ground. Easy call.

WINNER: Matyushenko via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (*-) Not the worst fight I've ever seen, but it was pretty damn awful. Very little actual "fighting" to speak of, and it looked exactly like you'd expect a fight between a 42 and a 41 year old to go.

FIGHT FOUR: DES GREEN VS. FABRICIO GUERREIRO (FEATHERWEIGHT TOURNEY QUARTERFINAL)

ROUND ONE: Guerreiro landed some hard kicks to the body and leg early. Green feigned a shot and tried to go over the top with a strike. They clashed into a brief clinch but separated. Guerreiro landed an outside kick. Green landed a solid left in close. Green connected on a couple more in an exchange. Another tentative fight here. Green clinched, but got thrown by Guerreiro. Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Guerreiro. Neither did much of anything, but Guerreiro did just a bit more.

ROUND TWO: More tentative action to start. Guerreiro threw a high kick, but it was blocked. Green got in a right. They traded shots. He tried for a takedown but got stuffed. Then Guerreiro came at him and took him down. Green got to his feet but Guerreiro stayed on his back standing into the cage. He landed some hard knees to the thigh. He continued throwing knees to the legs. Guerreiro tried to jump up to get his hooks in, let it go, then again took Green down briefly. Green finally got free. After more tentative action, Grenn shot for a leg but got shrugged off. He grabbed a body lock but Guerreiro avoided it. Guerreiro landed a groin shot bringing a delay. They restarted with 20 seconds left. Green scored a takedown with no time left.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Guerreiro. The control won him the round, but this isn't much more entertaining than the Matyushenko-Alexander fight.

ROUND THREE: Green grabbed a body lock early and started landing knees to the thighs similar to what Guerreiro did last round. Apparently Green's corner told him he won the second. Absolutely terrible corner advice. Even if it was true (it's not), that doesn't give him incentive to go for broke. And so he's not. Guerreiro spun out and then got back to his feet after a briefly attempted triangle. He started walking Green down and throwing punches, but Green was getting out of the way. They had a few more brief clinches down the stretch, but neither did anything the final half of the round. Awful.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Green. I guess. Neither really did anything, outside of Green having that clinch and landing knees to the thighs.

WINNER: Guerreiro via unanimous decision

STAR RATING: (*) Slightly better than Matyushenko-Alexander, but only ever so slightly.

MAIN EVENT FIGHT FIVE: PATRICIO "PITBULL" FREIRE VS. DIEGO NUNES (FEATHERWEIGHT TOURNEY QUARTERFINAL)

ROUND ONE: Pitbull landed an early leg kick. Nunes threw out several kicks at different angles that didn't really land. Nunes rushed in but froze on throwing anything and Pitbull cracked him with a left under the ear. He followed up with several strikes and Nunes went out! WOW!! That's just massively impressive.

WINNER: Freire via KO at 1:19 of the first round

STAR RATING: (**+) Too short to get much out of it, but what Pitbull just did is nothing short of incredible. Nunes has fought some heavy handed guys, and he's never been stopped before. Just hugely impressive work from Pitbull, and it's clear he's the best guy in this field. Curran-Freire II could be fantastic.

Thanks for joining us tonight, we'll have more live fight coverage tomorrow night, as World Series of Fighting 5 comes to the NBC Sports Network.
