Bellator's MTV2 debut drew 200,000 viewers on Saturday night, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
The ratings represented a massive uptick in key demographics for MTV2, bringing in 83% increase in men 18-49, an 80% increase in men 18-34 and an even bigger 133% increase in men 25-34.
The Bellator 35 card took place from the Tachi Palace Casino and Hotel in Lemoore, Calif., and featured the opening round of the Bellator season four welterweight tournament.
Penick's Analysis: It's hard to judge just what these numbers mean for Bellator at this point. It's certainly a good number for MTV2 compared to what they typically get from that demographic, but it will be interesting to see how the numbers look on a week to week basis, especially when they fluctuate start times against UFC events. And without having ratings information from Fox Sports Net, it's hard to tell off of one event whether this was the right move for Bellator overall.
