Bellator will keep their announce team intact after all.
It was looking very much like they'd return in season four without Jimmy Smith, as he stated back in December that he had been approached with an "unacceptable" offer and didn't feel he'd be back. But now, MMAFighting.com reports that Smith has re-signed with the organization with a new three-year deal, confirmed by Bellator CEO and founder Bjorn Rebney.
"Jimmy is the best in the business, and he and Sean are a spectacular team," Rebney said. "There were some hurdles to make a deal happen, but we're happy to get it done, and absolutely thrilled to have Jimmy back."
"This team will be together for years to come. We have a pure play-by-play guy and color guy, and I think what we have right now is the best announcing team in the sport."
Penick's Analysis: I'm glad to hear this news, as I liked this team together over the last two seasons. Bellator came back with what had to have been a much better offer than Smith was initially approached with, and now the team will stick together for the duration of Bellator's current deal with MTV2.
