Bellator's October 21 event in Philadelphia has gotten another major bout, as Ben Askren and Lyman Good will square off for Bellator's Welterweight Championship.
The bout was announced by Askren today on Twitter.
Good, the season one welterweight tournament winner, has not fought since winning the season one tournament last June. He defeated Hector Urbina, Jorge Ortiz and Omar De La Cruz to claim the tournament and the Championship belt.
Askren, meanwhile, is fresh off of a unanimous decision victory over Dan Hornbuckle in the season two finals. The highly decorated amateur wrestler used his superior talents to get through Ryan Thomas twice and then Hornbuckle to move his career record to 6-0.
Bellator 33 will also feature a lightweight showcase fight between Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and former UFC star Roger Huerta. The event takes place from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. Tickets are currently on sale at www.ComcastTix.com.
Penick's Analysis: With just these two fights coming to the card it's already an extremely exciting event. Huerta-Alvarez is the lightweight fight they were trying to get set up when Huerta was signed. As for Askren vs. Lombard, after his performance against Hornbuckle I'm not going to underestimate Askren. If he can incorporate a striking game to his repertoire he's going to be a very good welterweight fighter.

The headlining bout between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans averaged 6.1 million viewers, meaning the peak number for the event will still come in somewhat higher than that. The opening bout between Demian Maia and Chris Weidman was seen by an average of four million viewers...
I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
