Two new fights have been added to the Bellator 143 event in Hidalgo, Texas, later this month, as the organization announced on Wednesday that Darrion Caldwell will face Shawn Bunch in a bantamweight matchup, while heavyweights Chase Gormley and Dan Charles square off.
The undefeated Caldwell, a former NCAA D-1 wrestling champion, picked up his fourth straight win in Bellator in May. That win came over tournament winner and one-time title challenger Rafael Silva to move his professional record to 7-0.
Bunch holds a similar background, entering MMA after an amateur wrestling career that saw him become a two-time All-American and an Olympic alternate. His entire professional career has come in the Bellator cage, where he's put together a 4-1 run, most recently defeating WEC and Strikeforce vet Rolando Perez.
UFC vet Gormley makes his Bellator debut riding a five-fight winning streak. In his most recent appearance, he defeated fellow UFC vet Jon Madsen at Titan FC 33 in March. As for Charles, the 29-year-old is 9-3 overall in his career, and has gone 2-2 inside the Bellator cage. In his most recent appearance, he was stopped by Bobby Lashley in June.
Bellator 143 airs live on Spike on Sept. 25, headlined by a bantamweight contender's bout between Joe Warren and L.C. Davis.
