Bellator has added a new face to their heavyweight division, announcing Thursday that they've signed UFC vet and current Titan FC Heavyweight Champion Chase Gormley to a deal.
"I'm ecstatic to have the opportunity to compete for Bellator MMA with Scott Coker at the helm," Gormley said in a press release. "I can't think of a better way to show that I am one of the best heavyweights in the world than here, and with a platform like Spike it won't be long before everyone knows my name."
Gormley made it to the UFC in 2009 off a six fight winning streak to kick off his MMA career, but suffered losses to both Stefan Struve and Brendan Schaub before getting his release. After a rough start outside of the organization, winning just one of his next four fights, Gormley turned things around.
He's unbeaten since 2011, winning five straight fights and most recently defeating fellow UFC vet Jon Madsen in March.
