In a move that makes a little bit of sense on some level, Bellator MMA has signed longtime UFC veteran, one-time UFC Title challenger, and Ultimate Fighter season 1 competitor Josh Koscheck.
The welterweight's signing was announced during Friday's Bellator 139 broadcast on Spike, and Koscheck posted on Instagram that he's interested in a rematch with Paul Daley.

Their infamous first fight ended with Daley getting booted from the UFC for an after-the-horn sucker punch, and he's bounced around outside of the Octagon since then.
Koscheck, meanwhile, went on to fight Georges St-Pierre for the UFC Title after that 2010 meeting, but got his face busted up in that title bout. Though he'd win a couple of fights in a row after the GSP bout, Koscheck, finished his UFC run with five straight losses, four in a row by stoppage, with three coming in the first round. He was a month shy of ten full years in the UFC with his last bout in March.
Penick's Analysis: I'm not a fan of the signing. Koscheck's taken a ton of abuse over the last two years, and with how much time he's spent in the cage in his career, it seemed time for him to walk away. He doesn't want to do that, and Bellator's going to give him a chance to continue on. I just don't know how many are clamoring for that in the first place, and his health is going to be a concern no matter what type of fight he winds up getting later this year.
