Lawal has won three of his last four fights, with the sole loss in that stretch a decision to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson that was largely criticized. He most recently stopped Joe Vedepo at Bellator 131 last November. He's competed in the heavyweight division before, but not since his Strikeforce debut in 2009.
He'll now take on the former longtime UFC heavyweight in Kongo, who has won four of five fights in the Bellator cage since entering in 2013. His loss came by decision in a five round title fight against Vitaly Minakov, and he's since stopped Eric Smith and Lavar Johnson in consecutive fights.
Bellator 134 is the organization's "British Invasion" show, which hits the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Feb. 27. It airs live on Spike TV, and will presumably be headlined by the Light Heavyweight Title bout between Emanuel Newton and Liam McGeary after news of the injury to Welterweight Champ Douglas Lima.
