Bellator President Scott Coker has issued a statement in the wake of four fighters on one card failing their drug tests earlier this month.
The former Strikeforce CEO says it's something that won't be tolerated in the organization, and wants to make that very apparent.
"I want to make very clear that under new management, Bellator will simply not stand for performance enhancing drugs inside our cage," Coker said in the released statement. "We fully support the California State Athletic Commission in their process, and stand by any disciplinary action handed out by Commissioner Andy Foster and the CSAC. Fans, media and our athletes need to have a clear understanding that drug use will simply not be tolerated by Bellator."
Penick's Analysis: I'm curious to see if Bellator and Viacom actually put any money into this to make a further effort themselves. It's not only on the UFC to combat drugs in the sport, as the No. 2 organization should be making an effort as well. They didn't at all under the Rebney regime, but Coker's at least expressing some thoughts on that front here. Now let's see some action.
