Emanuel Newton is putting his Bellator Light Heavyweight Title on the line for the second time in season 11, as he'll take on England's Linton Vassell at Bellator 130 on Oct. 24.
That fight will headline the card in Wichita, Kansas, which will also Bobby Lashley vs. Karl Etherington, Marloes Coenen vs. Annalisa Bucci, and Dave Jansen vs. Rick Hawn.
"I didn't feel good about my last performance even though I got the knock out," Newton said in a press release of his Bellator 124 win over Joey Beltran. "I wanted to get another fight as soon as possible so I could put on a better performance for the fans, and [Scott] Coker, Bellator, Spike and Viacom really made it happen. I have to thank everyone involved and I am ready to put on an awesome fight for the fans on October 24."
Newton now faces Vassell, who has won three fights in the Bellator cage, though none of those came in a Bellator tournament. However, as he's riding a nine fight winning streak with seven finishes in that stretch, he's a better option than Beltran was earlier this month.
