Bellator has added to their new women's featherweight division, signing undefeated jiu jitsu ace Talita "Treta" Nogueira on Thursday.
"Joining Bellator is like a dream come true," Nogueira said in a press release. "Since I began my MMA career I wanted to compete in a promotion like Bellator so I want to thank Scott and Rich for bringing back women's MMA to Bellator and I promise I will train harder than anyone to put on entertaining fights for Bellator."
Nogueira took a few years off in her MMA career to compete exclusively in jiu jitsu competitions, but she returned in 2013, picking up two wins to move to 6-0 overall. She now joins Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd as the first three signed to the new 145 lb. women's roster.
"We are always excited when we can bring in a talent like Talita to the organization," said Bellator President Scott Coker. "This is just the beginning for women's MMA here at Bellator. We want to make a very serious commitment to this division, and this is just the start."
