Bellator MMA's first summer series on Spike TV will kick off in Oklahoma this June, as MMAFighting.com reports that they'll head to the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville on June 19.
Expected for the first event of the summer is Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal, who will take part in the four-man light heavyweight field. His opponent is not yet confirmed, though it had been rumored he'd face former Bellator Champ Christian M'Pumbu in the field. However, the field hasn't yet been finalized, nor has a card for the June 19 event.
Though the date is odd - June 19 falls on a Wednesday while Bellator ran on Thursdays for their eighth season - Spike TV is likely to debut their new reality series, Fight Master: Bellator MMA, the following night, June 20, in Bellator's normal timeslot after Impact Wrestling. However, that's not been officially announced.
"Fight Master" is an Ultimate Fighter-like reality MMA series, with fighters competing to earn slots on the Bellator roster. But they've given it a twist, as the fighters get to choose between one of four coaches to train them: Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, Greg Jackson, and Joe Warren.
