"For now (we) M-1 Global works with Strikeforce and we are concentrating on that, the contract is not over yet. So for now we don’t have any interest in the UFC... So far I feel very comfortable fighting, very good with my fighting, and I’m planning of fighting as long as I can physically. As far and I’m concerned we should discuss the possibility of signing another contract for 4-6 fights."

-Fedor Emelianenko talks to M-1Global.com about his intentions going forward in the fight game and with Strikeforce.

Penick's Analysis: It's hard to come up with six fights I'd like to see Fedor have in Strikeforce right now, but with Dana White saying the UFC isn't interested in him, it would make sense for Strikeforce to extend the contract for as little as they can pay him. They were at the mercy of M-1 for Fedor's services for the first contract, but they can make it more reasonable to have him on the roster with an extension at a lower price than he's currently demanding.

If he really has no desire to go to the UFC to face the current best of the best (he's got Werdum and Overeem in that conversation right now in Strikeforce, and he's already lost one of those), then fans aren't going to care anymore. However long he wants to fight, he'll still get people to tune in, but the "undefeated legend" allure has been stripped away.
