By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Herschel Walker's decision to step into the world of mixed martial arts, or should it be Strikeforce's decision to host his move, has drawn a number of heated comments from UFC President Dana White. Tuesday morning, Herschel made an appearance on the ESPN program "First Take" to discuss his move to MMA. He talked about his workout regimen, which he claims is a six hour a day process, and threw some shots back at White himself as well as saying he could beat all of the current heavyweight cast members on The Ultimate Fighter. Penick's Analysis: Strikeforce can't be happy that Walker went the entire segment without mentioning their promotion once. He had plenty to say regarding the UFC, Dana White and The Ultimate Fighter but he couldn't slip in a "oh yeah, and I'll be fighting for Strikeforce next year." While any money he makes off of fighting is going to charity, Strikeforce is still looking to make money off of this or they wouldn't have brought him in at all. Herschel didn't spread the love here, that's for sure. Now, as far as his claim that he could beat any of the heavyweights on this season's Ultimate Fighter, there are a few wrestlers and a certain heavyset BJJ practitioner who might have a thing to say about that. Herschel may be an incredible athlete, especially considering he's 47 years old, but his TKD background wouldn't be enough on it's own here to match up with guys that have been mixing stuff for awhile. Now, after seeing a few of the guys on this season in the first couple of fights no one would count Herschel out against them, but to say he'd be able to beat a few of the bigger, stronger, faster, younger and more experienced guys on the season is a bit far fetched.
