By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Gary Herman at FiveOuncesOfPain.com reports that according to Affliction VP Tom Atencio, controversial heavyweight Gilbert Yvel has been cleared to fight on the January 24th "Day of Reckoning" pay-per-view by the California State Athletic Commission. There were questions about whether or not he would be allowed to fight on the card against Josh Barnett due to his inability to be allowed licensure in Nevada. That stems from a 2004 incident where Yvel knocked out a referee. Atencio also claimed that Yvel promised to be a clean fighter for the bout.
