By: Alex Williams, MMATorch Contributor On January 24, Affliction's PPV featuring Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Alorvski will not be the only hand-to-hand combat action on television. That same night, Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions will be co-promoting a boxing match between top ranked 147 pounders Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley that will air live on HBO.
Back in September, news broke that Golden Boy was going to co-promote events with Affliction, including the Emelianenko/Arlovski bout.
After a rumored half-boxing/half-MMA show never came to fruition and it became clear that Golden Boy would not be involved with Affliction's January broadcast, many were skeptical about the extent to which the two sides planned to work together. Now it appears we have an answer: very little.
