Two up and coming welterweight fighters will get a chance to continue their respective streaks on a larger stage as Akbarh Arreola and Brett Cooper face off on Affliction's "Trilogy" event on August 1st.
The bout was announced Friday by MMAJunkie.com.
Arreola is on a ten fight win streak that dates back to 2004. The streak began after consecutive losses to Bellator Lightweight Tournament finalist Toby Imada and Ultimate Fighter season six winner Mac Danzig.
Cooper himself has posted six straight wins and has won seven of his last eight. He was rumored to be facing Takanori Gomi in a catchweight bout on this event but Gomi did not want to move up.
Affliction: "Trilogy" airs live on pay-per-view on August 1st from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, headlined by the WAMMA Heavyweight Championship bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Josh Barnett. A select number of preliminary bouts will air live on HDNet prior to the pay-per-view.

Penick's Analysis: This should be a good high energy bout between two guys who have been on a roll as of late. On the big stage with the bright lights and cameras on them they'll get a chance to pull out a break out style performance. It will definitely be entertaining, to say the least.
