As many of you may or may not have noticed, I've been absent from the site for the last few days, so I wanted to take this spot to update our readers. On Friday, January 22nd, my wife gave birth to our first child, a 7 lb. 13 oz. baby girl, Brynn Autumn, and for the past four days we've been at the hospital with my wife and daughter recovering and preparing to come home. We settled in back at home Monday afternoon and I have been working on taking care of the new family as we reorient ourselves to our new family life.

Big thanks go out to our great new columnists and to Torch Supervising Editor Wade Keller for their efforts at picking up the slack and giving updates as much as possible over the weekend. We have been a bit behind on the news due to my absence, but that will get turned around going forward here.

I thank all of our loyal readers for continuing to check out the new columns and features from our great contributors and columnists, and hope that we can continue to bring you great MMA coverage and opinions for a long time to come. Thanks again for your patience and understanding for the lack of news updates and commentary from myself over the past few days. We'll be back to a normal schedule of updates here this week, and will amp it up as much as possible going forward. We'll also be back with live event coverage for Saturday's Strikeforce: Miami event on Showtime, and then it's back full throttle into the late winter, early spring events. It'll all be here at MMATorch.com!

Greg_Jackson_80_1.jpg
"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
