Well, it was an exciting contest right down to the miserable snore-inducing "main event".

With both titles at risk going into the final fight, Mike Jarsulic managed to retain BOTH the Prediction and Betting titles when Mike Swick emerged with a majority decision.

In the Prediction contest, Jarsulic managed a 7-2 record knocking off my mediocre 5-4 effort.  Jars and I had the same winners up until Cote/McFedries and Swick/Burkman. He went 2-0 and the rest is history. Baxk to the drawing board for your humble author.

The new #1 Contender is none other than former champ, Micky Wan. Wan was one of four players to ring up an 8-1 record, but he managed 8 points in the tiebreaker. Wan will face Jarsulic on Saturday, February 2 at UFC 81: Breaking Point in an effort to recaim his abdicated belt! HIGH drama and karma indeed!

On the betting side, only four players were able to make a profit, although one player broke even.

Jarsulic defended his belt here also going two for three. Unfortunately for challenger Mark Patterson, Burkman didn't come through in the end for him either. So, Jarsulic holds on for another battle on Saturday, February 2 with our new #1 contender!

The new #1 Contender is MMA Torch reader Don Terry. Mr. Terry managed to roll up a profit of $780.

His winning picks:

$400 on Stephens = $1,180
$300 on Cote = $600
$300 on Robinson = $0

Total = $1,780, Total Profit = $780

Here are the rest of the players that managed a profit.

Maximillian Ayco
$500 on Stephens = $1,475
$400 on Robinson = $0
$100 on Veres = $0
Total profit = $475

Tyson Kubas
$400 on Swick = $545.45
$200 on Stephens = $580
$400 on Crane = $0
Total profit = $125.45

Mike Jarsulic (CHAMPION)
$300 on Cote = $600
$300 on Swick = $409.09
$400 on  Robinson = $0
Total profit = $9.09

Micky Wan
$500 on Cote = $1,000
$100 on Burkman = $0
$400 on Miller = $0
Total profit = $0, even

YOU can be the next #1 contender for either title.

Lines and the card for UFC 81: Breaking Point on Saturday, February 2, 2008 will be posted on or about January 28. Stop back and join the action!!!!
