MMA News: Angle likely to fight in Mixed Martial Arts in 2007, reports Real Fighter

-Real Fighter magazine reports tat Kurt Angle "is in strong discussions to complete in professional mixed martial arts" sometime in 2007. He is not revealing which organization he expects to strike a deal with. The Kurt Angle website sent a link to this story to its mailing list members. [Thanks to PWTorch.com reader Bob Garman]
KELLER ANALYSIS: It's been pretty well known that Angle was looking at MMA as a strong possibility, and the wording of this story doesn't indicate it's a done deal, but the fact that Kurt Angle's website mailing list was alerted to this article means Angle wants word out about this. It could be a negotiating ploy or just a basic update on his intentions. In any case, if he can himself cleaned up and if his neck isn't at risk in an MMA fighting situation (he's not likely to be suplexed without cooperating with his opponent in MMA, but it's possible with a high level of competition, he could take a hard shot to the neck on impact), and he passes an athletic commission physical, he stands to make a lot of money even if his first fight is a mismatch in his favor.
