If you're able to correctly predict the most UFC 72 fights, you'll earn a head-to-head championship match-up next weekend at the UFC The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale on Spike TV on June 23.
At UFC Fight Night 10, Jerry Cattelane became the first ever 2-time MMATorch Prediction Champion, with a win over Tyson Kubas. Cattelane will be defending his newly won title for the first time at UFC 72 against fellow MMATorch columnist Matt Pelkey. Pelkey was the winner of our UFC Fight Night 10 Prediction Contest to determine a new number one contender. With two MMATorch columnists in the championship match, MMATorch readers will need to step up their game for UFC 72.
Below is the complete fight card for UFC 72. Please send in your predictions with the following format:

PART A - Who wins?
PART B - How do they win? Methods of victory can be -- submission, KO/TKO, unanimous/split decision, DQ.
PART C - What round do they win in? All fights will have 3 five-minute rounds. If you're predicting a decision victory, you do not need to include a round.

The new number one contender for the MMATorch Prediction Championship will be determined by who correctly predicts the most fights at UFC 72. The winning MMATorch reader or writer will compete head-to-head against our champion in predicting UFC TUF 5 FINALE fights. The championship match between MMATorch Prediction Champion Jerry Cattelane and MMATorch columnist Matt Pelkey will be detailed in our Staff Predictions article before UFC 72.
To be eligible, you must submit at least Part A above. Part B and Part C are optional. In the event of a tie, the winners will be determined by who correctly predicts the most combined methods (Part B) and rounds of victory (Part C). In the further event of a tie, winners will be determined by Part B. In determining method/round of victory scores, KO and TKO will count as one and the same, as will split and unanimous decision. These methods of victory will only be differentiated between if a further tiebreaker is necessary.
Please send in your predictions by 12:00 p.m. (noon) EST on Saturday June 16. Entries can be resubmitted up until this time. Please make a note in your e-mail that your entry is a resubmission, which will void your original entry.
Remember -- you've got to play to win, so send in your predictions and show us why you deserve to reign supreme as the MMATorch Prediction Champion. It won't be an easy task securing a spot in the championship match, but once you're there, it'll be easier to stay on top. As the champion, you'll only have to compete with one other person. The rest of us, in the meantime, will be competing against each other to become the new number one contender for your title. We'll keep a lineage of the champions here on the site. As times goes on, there’ll be more and more people competing to be the new number one contender, so it’d be wise to get in on this contest now, for your best chance at securing your legacy in the record books early.
