Thoughts on the Current State of the UFC Welterweight Division
Josh Koscheck will finish the year with the best record in the division.
Josh Neer started the year off with two straight victories over Melvin Guillard and Joe Stevenson, both of whom have now dropped down to the newly reestablished lightweight division. Neer followed these two victories up with two straight losses, though, and will now be looking to start over in the division if given another chance by the UFC. One of Neer’s losses came at the hands of Nick Diaz, who himself started the year off with two straight losses. Diaz then rebounded with two straight wins to finish off the year.
The sheer plethora of top talent in this division is what makes it arguably the most talent-laden weight division in the UFC.
